Cats Outslug Campbellsville in MSC Tournament
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Second-seeded Bethel beat fifth-seeded Campbellsville 12-9 in a slugfest in the double elimination bracket Thursday afternoon in Bowling Green.
The Wildcats (31-12) will face Georgetown in the winner's bracket at 6 p.m. CT Friday night. Campbellsville (22-20) fell into the loser's bracket and will face Lindsey Wilson in an elimination game Friday morning. Bethel was 2-1 versus Georgetown this year.
The Wildcats appeared to be in good shape leading 6-2 after three innings.
The Tigers cut the Wildcat lead to 6-5 in the sixth inning.
Bethel led 9-6 going into the eighth inning. The Tigers tied the game with three runs in the top of the eighth, but the Wildcats answered in the bottom of the frame to score three and eventually win 12-9. The big hit in the inning was a two-run RBI single by Noah Foster.
The Wildcats outhit Campbellsville 13-12. The Tigers stranded 10 runners while Bethel left eight runners on base.
