Baseball Splits Doubleheader at Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Bethel Wildcats split their doubleheader at Campbellsville Friday afternoon. The Cats fell 7-4 in game one but won 7-5 in a second game comeback.

Bethel is 29-12 overall and 9-8 in the Mid-South Conference. The Tigers finished the day at 22-18 and 7-10.

The squads play a single game on Saturday beginning at noon. It will be the regular season finale for both teams.

Campbellsville outhit Bethel 8-5 in game one. Four of the seven runs scored by the Tigers were unearned. Bethel committed six errors in the game. Jared Hall, Ivan Vega, Noah Foster each drove in single runs for the Wildcats. Tyler Proctor suffered a hard luck loss. Tristin Crusenberry picked up the Tiger win.

Trailing 5-0 after five innings in game two, the Cats rallied with five runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game. Noah Foster had an RBI single. Luis Aristud had a two RBI triple. Noah Hawkins followed with an RBI single. Jared Hall tied the game by driving in the final run of the inning.  Bethel scored two runs in the seventh to win 7-5.  Paden New had the game winner with an RBI double. He later scored on a Tiger error. Each team had 13 hits in the game. Luke Boswell was the winner. Alexis Rodriguez was credited with the save.
