
Cats Complete Series Sweep of Olivet Nazarene
MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Wildcats completed a four-game weekend sweep of Olivet Nazarene Sunday. The Cats won 6-5 and 5-4. The Cats won Saturday's games 11-4 and 7-3.
Game one was tied at 5-5 when Noah Foster scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the fifth to give the Wildcats a 6-5 victory.
The Tigers outhit the Wildcats 10-5. Each squad left five on base.
Jared Hall had two hits and drove in two runs. Ivan Vega drove in two runs. Noah Hawkins had an RBI. Tristian Seputis and Nathan Rhodes combined for two shutout innings to preserve the win. Starter Alexis Rodriguez pitched 4.2 innings.
In game two, the Wildcats trailed 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Juan Diego Ramos slugged a three-run homer to give the Cats a 3-1 lead. Zach Griffith drove in two runs later in the inning to up the lead to 5-1.
The Tigers plated three runs in the sixth on a three-run homer by Taylor Steig to pull to within 5-4. That would be the scoring as Ryan White entered the game and picked up the save. Lucas Smith claimed the win.
ONU outhit the Wildcats 10-6.
Bethel moved to 10-2 while ONU dropped to 0-4.
