Bat Cats Snap Losing Steak with Walk -off Extra Inning Victory over Lindsey Wilson

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Friday's match-up at Wildcat Park in the Kahlden Complex turned into a pitcher's duel as Bethel's Luke Boswell and LWC' s Cole Achen were both at the top of their games. Boswell went nine innings allowing just two hits while Achen pitched 7.2 innings allowing just four hits.

Both teams put runners in scoring position several times but both hurlers were to get out of the innings unscathed.

Lindsey Wilson's Glenn Simes entered the game in the eighth and shut out the Wildcats to send the game to extra innings.

Bethel's Alexis Rodriguez shut down the Blue Raiders sending the game to the bottom of the tenth.

Simes worked out of a jam in the bottom of the tenth to extend the game.

Rodriquez did not allow a run in the top of the 11th.

Noah Foster had a one out single in  the bottom of the 11th. Bryan Catala grounded into a fielder's choice with Foster out at second. Catala later scored the game winner after a double to left by Ivan Vega. Vega had two doubles in the game. 

The Cats outhit the Blue Raiders 6-2.

Rodriquez picked up the Wildcat win while Simes suffered the LWC loss.

 Bethel moved to 10-25 overall and 6-13 in the MSC.

The Blue Raiders dropped to 16-17 and 8-10. It was the third straight loss for LWC.

The teams wrap up the series Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at noon.
