
Bat Cats Split DH at Thomas More
CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Bethel Wildcats and the Thomas More Saints wrapped up their three game weekend series Saturday in Crestview Hills.
The Cats were attempting to bounce from their Friday night 18-8 loss to the Saints.
Bethel scored in the first inning on a Noah Foster RBI single. The Saints bounced back with three runs in the bottom of the inning.
The Cats put up a five spot in the top of the fourth to lead 6-3. Zayden McCaslin, Bryan Catala and Jose Olmeda scored unearned runs after three TMU errors. Adriel Vega drove in a run with a triple. Foster followed with an RBI single.
That score stood as Marco Santa went the distance firing a six-hitter in the 6-3 Wildcat victory. The Cats had seven hits in the seven-inning affair.
Ivan Vega gave Bethel the second game lead with a first inning RBI double, driving in Foster which gave the Cats the 1-0 lead. That would be the only run the Cats would score. Thomas More scored three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to win 5-1. The Saints outhit the Wildcats 7-5. Bethel committed two errors in the game.
Tyler Proctor suffered the Bethel loss.
Bethel finished the day at 6-13 overall and 3-3 in the conference. TMU is 10-7 and 3-3.
The Cats are scheduled to play Missouri Baptist at home Tuesday but that game could be in jeopardy due to recent storm damage at Wildcat Park. The status of the game will be released when determined
