Cats Snap Losing Streak with Doubleheader Sweep Over Lindsey Wilson

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Bethel Wildcats and the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders resumed play Saturday completing their three-game weekend series in Lebanon. The Raiders captured Friday's opening game 10-5.

The Wildcats struck first in game one. Jose Olmeda hit a lead-off homer in the first. Kendrick Osborne scored on an error by Cumberland's centerfielder.

Osborne drove in a run in the second scoring Luis Aristud with a single.

The Cats added three more runs in the third. Paden New scored on a balk. Aristud followed with an RBI single driving in Noah Hawkins. Brandon Armour hit into a fielder's choice and was credited with an RBI as Bryan Catala scored.

The Cats increased their lead to 7-0 in the top of the fifth. New again scored on a balk.

Wyatt McKee singled driving in Olmeda for the final run in the sixth.

Cumberland scored two runs in the fifth for the final of 8-2. The win snapped Bethel's six game losing streak.

The Cats had twelve hits in the game. Marco Santa went the distance allowing just six hits and the two runs. It was his fifth win on the year. Bailey Turner was charged with the Raider loss.

In game two the Blue Raiders scored two runs in the fourth to lead 2-0.

The Wildcats took the lead in the fifth. Olmeda drove in Catala and Aristud with a two run double. He later scored to give the Wildcats a 3-2 margin.

The Cats increased the lead to 4-2 in the sixth. Aristud drove in Hawkins with a sacrifice fly.

Bethel took charge scoring two runs in the seventh. Wyatt McKee drove in Olmeda with a sacrifice fly. Ivan Vega was hit by a pitch and Osborne scored to make it 6-2.

 McKee was back at it again in the eighth driving in Osborne with a single. New finished his productive day with an RBI single in the inning as well.

LWC plated a run in the eighth, but the Cats went on to win 8-3. Bethel outhit the Raiders 10-5. The Cats left ten runners on base.

Alexis Rodriguez picked up the win. Josh Barnett was charged with the loss.

Bethel moved to 10-16 and 8-9 in the league. LWC dropped to 21-15 and 9-9.

The Cats return home to play Lyon College Tuesday at 2 p.m.
