Baseball Batters Campbellsville in Game Two to Gain Split
CAMPBELLSVILLE. Ky. – The Bethel baseball squad traveled to Campbellsville to battle the Campbellsville Tigers in a doubleheader Friday.

Bethel's Jacob Foster slugged a solo homer in the third while J.T. Morgan accounted for Bethel's other run with an RBI double in the fifth.
The Tigers outhit the Wildcats 10-5 in the game. Wyatt McKee suffered the Bethel loss.
The Cats bounced back in a big way in game two, winning 16-3. Bethel scored three runs in the first and broke the game open with four runs in the fourth and six runs in the fifth.
Logan Beecham drove in four runs while Bryan Catala had three hits and drove in three runners. Luis Aristud and Foster had two RBI's each. Noah Miller and Ivan Vega each drove in single runs. Kendrick Osborne scored three times and had three hits in the win.
The Wildcats had 14 hits in the game and that proved to be more than enough for Bethel ace Marco Santa who went the distance picking up his fourth win on the season.
Bethel is 7-8 overall and 5-3 in league play. The Tigers are 6-12 and 2-3.
Coach Rusty Thompson commented, "In game one I felt like our guys did a decent job of keeping it from getting out of control. At one point we had a chance to make it a one run game and it just wasn't meant to be. Our team keep playing and fighting. CU's starter in that game was very good and he did great keeping us from getting much going. We had some good at bats in the game and was it good for our guys to get a chance to compete against a quality lefty. We left some runners on, but good pitchers can do that to you sometimes."
Thompson added, "Game two was a great indication of how our guys play hard and compete. We came out and set the tone early with runs in the first and Marco Santa did exactly what we needed him to do. We had a relentless offensive attack throughout most of the game. A lot of guys throughout the lineup contributed. It's great when your starter goes out and gives you a complete game."
Coach Thompson concluded, "You never like losing but they have a solid team and we didn't enjoy that first game but coming out fighting in that second game and earning the split was great to see. We still have things we need to cover and questions we are working on answering every day, it's just a process but all and all I feel good about our progress."
Saturday's game was cancelled due to weather conditions.
The Cats return home to host the University of the Cumberlands Friday and Saturday at Wildcat Park. The teams square for a single game Friday at 6 p.m. The teams meet in a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
