Update-Bethel Finishes Sixth in Mid-South Conference 3d Archery Championship

UPDATE:

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.) captured its seventh-straight Mid-South Conference 3D Archey Championship Saturday. The Bethel Wildcats finished sixth in the event.

The Patriots tallied a MSC-record 225 points with 23 podium finishes to capture the championship. Cumberlands recorded 13 golds, five silvers and five bronze medals to pull away from the field. The Patriots earned four in the compound divisions.  The Patriots earned three golds in fixed pins, two in barebow and four in recurve.

Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) finished runner-up tallying 132 points. The Blue Raiders had four golds, five silvers and seven bronze medals. Lindsey Wilson earned gold in mixed compound, men's fixed pins, men's team fixed pins and men's recurve team.

Pikeville (Ky.) finished third with 120 points. The Bears recorded two gold medals, seven silver and four bronze. The Bears earned gold in women's barebow and women's team barebow.

Union (Ky.) recorded 63 points to finish fourth. The Bulldogs captured a gold medal in men's barebow. Kentucky Christian finished in fifth place with 20 points with four fourth-place finishes.

Bethel tallied 10 points while Campbellsville and Midway each scored five points to round out the team standings.

During Qualification rounds on Friday Bethel had:

Mauricio Granobles (Venezuela) finished in the top 15 in men's recurve division.

Ciara Marshall (Barbados) finished in the top 20 in women's recurve division.

Aden Koelling (Springfield, Mo.) finished in the top 15 in the men's barebow division.

William Reynolds (Milan, Tenn.) finished in the top 20 in the men's barebow division.

Brandon Hatley (McKenzie, Tenn.) finished in the top 20 in the men's pins division.

The mixed male and female team of Mauricio Granobles (Venezuela) and Ciara Marshall (Barbados) competed in the mixed team rounds and won their quarterfinal match against Kentucky Christian University. They then advanced to the semi- final matches where they were beaten by University of the Cumberlands and then lost their bronze medal match against Lindsey Wilson College. They finished in 4th place in the region and conference as a Mix Team.

The Bowhunter men's team made up of Brandon Hatley (McKenzie, Tenn.), Grant Summers (Bartlett, Tenn.) and Andrii Kliuienko (Ukraine) competed in the bowhunter pin's team round. They won their first match, upsetting the University of Pikeville.
