Bio

Derrick Hubble enters his eighth season as head coach of the Bethel University men’s and women’s tennis programs in 2025–26.

Since taking over the programs, Hubble has guided both teams to consistent improvement. In his first three seasons, each squad posted better records than the previous year. The women’s team earned the Bethel NAIA Team Academic Award in both 2019 and 2020, recognizing their excellence in the classroom.

In 2020, the men’s team started the season with a 6–2 record—the best opening stretch by a Bethel men's squad in a decade—before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2024 season was a standout year for the women’s program. The team finished with a 14–4 overall record, earned runner-up honors in the Mid-South Conference Tournament, and finished ranked No. 23 in the final NAIA Top 25 poll. For his leadership, Hubble was named Mid-South Conference Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year.

Before being named head coach, Hubble worked in the Bethel sports information department and served as a graduate assistant for the women’s basketball team.

A Bethel alumnus, Hubble earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education in 2013 and completed a master’s degree in Education in 2018.
