Bio

Richard Vaughn has dedicated his professional life to education, law, and service. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Lambuth College in 1983 before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis in 1986. Since 1987, he has been a licensed attorney in the State of Tennessee, building a distinguished career in the legal profession while also contributing to higher education.

Currently, Vaughn serves as an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR), where he combines his extensive legal knowledge with a passion for mentoring and educating students. His commitment to student success and academic excellence has made him a respected member of the university community.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Vaughn considers his family to be his greatest blessing. He has been married to his wife, Malissa, for 40 years and often describes her as “the best person I know.” Together, they have raised two outstanding sons and are proud to welcome two wonderful daughters-in-law into their family. They are also the proud grandparents of three special grandchildren who bring tremendous joy to their lives.

With decades of experience in law, education, and service, Richard Vaughn continues to make a lasting impact on his students, colleagues, and community.
