
Malissa Vaughn Honored by Bethel’s Athletic Department at Monday Reception
MCKENZIE, Tenn. - Malissa Vaughn has served as faculty athletic representative at Bethel since 2004. She was named the school's senior women's leader in 2022.
Mrs. Vaughn was awarded the prestigious Southern States Athletic Conference Faculty Athletic Representative of the Year Award in 2019. She has served on the Executive, Eligibility and Women's Leadership committees in the TranSouth, Southern States and Mid-South conferences. Vaughn has also served as the faculty athletic representative chair in the TSAC and SSAC. At the national level, she has served on the FAR Council. Mrs. Vaughn has been a key member of the Five-Year Eligibility Task Force and the Evaluation Team for prospective new members.
Vaughn joined the Bethel faculty in 2000 and is a Professor of Health and Human Performance. She has served on several faculty committees during her tenure. Prior to Bethel, Mrs. Vaughn taught and coached in Memphis and Shelby County.
Mrs. Vaughn was honored Monday by the Bethel athletic department. Coaches, staff members, and others attended a reception held in her honor.
Other events at the school will salute and honor Mrs. Vaughn throughout the summer.
Mrs. Vaughn will retire effective July 31. The entire university and athletic department wish her many blessings in her retirement. She will be missed by all.
