On the men's side the Wildcats came out in the first event of the day and won the DMR and also qualified for the national championships. Skoog would go on later in the day to win the 3000-meter race by 16 seconds with a time of 8:15. That made him 1st team all-conference in the event. The Wildcats will return to action in two weeks for the NAIA national Championships in Brookings, SD. The men's DMR team ranks 25th nationally. Joseph Skoog is qualified in three individual events. He ranks 2nd nationally in the 5k, 4th in the mile, and 6th in the 3000.
Coach Brandon Kilburn said, "First I would like to say how proud I am of Kaeli Sain. She ran back-to-back PRs in the 60 and missed nationals by milliseconds. She is as much of a pleasure to coach as anyone I have ever had and finished her final indoor season in incredible fashion. Our men's DMR team came together on the last day to enter for the meet. We had a group that thought if they all did a certain time, we could make it work. They all did their part and we made it with .4 seconds to spare. I am very proud of them for the effort and look forward to seeing how they perform nationally. Joseph ran very well to earn two first team all-conference medals. He has put himself in a position to pick what he wants to do at the national championship and have a chance to win in any of the events he enters. We will make that decision soon. Overall, it was a very solid indoor season, hopefully we can finish it off with a great national championship performance."
