Bethel Athletics 2023 Leadership Luncheon is Huge Success

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Athletics 2023 Leadership Luncheon took place Friday in the Vera Lowe for Student Enrichment Boardroom on the campus of Bethel University.

Over 150 supporters, coaches, students and Bethel staff members attended the event.

The luncheon was an effort to raise funds for a men's and women's golf complex. The facility 60x40 building would house an indoor putting green, player's lounge and study area, coaches' offices, simulator and two indoor bays that would hit onto a 250-yard outdoor range. The facility would also include an outdoor natural green with a greenside bunker.

The event was also an effort to raise funds for a football facility that would house the Bethel conference champion winning football program. The building will include locker rooms, meeting space and coaches' offices. This would allow the school to use the current football fieldhouse for the men's and women's soccer teams.

The luncheon and future events of such will also supplement the Dale Kelley Scholarship Endowment Fund.

Highlighting the event were keynote speakers, Coach Mickey Marley, hall of fame high school football coach and author of "Game Ready-52 Takeaways for Winning". Bethel Hall of Fame member, former Wildcat golfer and prominent businessman, Ricky Rosenjack. Author, speaker and trainer Dr. Dale Henry also spoke. Henry has been called on by corporate, government and educational agencies to train professionals.

Chappell commented. "We are overwhelmed with gratitude to our sponsors and attendants at our Leadership Luncheon. We feel it was a tremendous success. A huge thanks to our speakers - Dr. Dale Henry, Mr. Rick Rosenjack, and Coach Mickey Marley. Each did a wonderful job talking about leadership and what has made them successful. This was a great way for people to provide support for Bethel Athletics, while at the same time receiving valuable leadership training from proven experts in their respective fields." Chappell concluded, "I also want to thank President Walter Butler, Malissa Vaughn and Myra Carlock for their wonderful work in helping us to make this such a successful project."
