Lady Cats Close Out Regular Season with Win at FHU

Henderson, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcat women's soccer team closed out their regular season against Freed-Hardeman Tuesday. The Lady Cats put a damper on Freed's Senior Night with a 4-1 victory.

It was the third straight win for the Lady Wildcats with all of those coming on the road. Bethel moved to 6-9 -0 overall and 4-7-0 in the MSC. FHU dropped to 2-14-0 and 0-11-0.   

Bethel's two top scorers were instrumental in the win. Elvira Martin scored her team leading 10th goal on the season in the first period. Ainhoa Chirivella scored single goals in the first and second periods to give her a total of eight goals on the season.  Carla Cebollada added a score on an assist by Chirivella. It was her eighth assist on the year.

After Freed took an early 1-0 lead, the Lady Cats dominated for the most with a great effort on the offensive end.

Bethel outshot the Lady Lions 24-4 and had a 15-2 advantage in shots on goal.

 Bethel will move on to the upcoming MSC Tournament which begins November 6. Seedings, pairings, and locations will be released this weekend.
