SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - Bethel returned to action at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas Thursday meeting University Science & Arts of Oklahoma (RV). The Wildcats pulled off the 1-0 upset over the Drover who received votes in this week's NAIA Coaches' Poll.
Bethel improved to 2-1 on the year while Science & Arts fell to 4-3 on the season. The match marked the third meeting between the two programs with Bethel now holding a 3-0 margin in the series.
After a scoreless first period, Elle Carson put Bethel on the board with a free kick from the left flank. The score at the 77:25 mark was after an assist from Elvira Martin.
The Drovers outshot Bethel 17-8. Each team had eight shots on goal. Bethel's Shanay Ricketts was superb in net with eight saves.
The Cats will meet No. 9 John Brown Saturday at 11 a.m.
