Volleyball Signs Martin Westview Standout

MARTIN, Tenn. – The Bethel University Volleyball program signed Martin Westview High School standout Mattie Hopper recently.

Mattie is the daughter of Tim and Brandi Hopper of Martin, Tennessee and will major in Human Performance Sports Management.

Hopper played four years for the Chargers where she was an all-district performer and a two-time all-tournament team member twice. She also played club ball for the Tennessee Force for three years. Mattie was the Paris Volleyball Club MVP in 2023.

Off the court at MWV, Mattie was an Honor Roll member for four years. She was also a member of the Beta Club and the FCA.

Aside from her strong passion for volleyball, she feels her greatest strength is that she works to encourage her teammates and keep spirits high.

Coach Starla Cupples said, "We love finding local talent and are excited to add Mattie to the roster. She makes her presence known at the net and we expect her game to continue to grow at Bethel."
