Lady Cats Wrap Up Regular Season with Senior Night Win over FHU

Host Lindsey Wilson Friday in MSC Tournament

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats wrapped up their regular season Tuesday night playing host to rival Freed-Hardeman at Walter Butler Stadium.

It was Senior night for nine Lady Wildcats.

Elle Carson, Carla Cebollada, Cassidy Kerkesner, Ainhoa Chirivella, Hailey Hibbeler, Mimi Hernández Lee, Olivia Kavanagh-Spall, Aracett Solis and Alicia Perez were honored following their match.

The Lady Cats took a 1-nil lead at the 19:44 mark on a goal by Olivia Kavanagh-Spall.

Audrey LaRue scored on an assist from Paula Pinila at the 35:52 mark to give the Cats a 2-nil margin.

 Less than two minutes later LaRue dished out an assist to Kalina Stanisic to give the Cat a three-goal margin.

Elle Carson scored an unassisted goal to give the Cats a 4-nil advantage at the break.

The second period saw goals by Addison Schumacher and Kelly Nunes hand the Cat a 6-nil victory. Briley Ross and Johanna Veldhuizen were credited with assists.

Bethel dominated the game with a 31-3 advantage in shots and a 16-1 margin in shots on goal. 

Bethel moved to 8-6-0 overall and 3-3 -0 in the MSC.

FHU fell to 4-12-0 and 0-6-0.

Bethel owns a 15-1-1 advantage in the series between the two programs.

The No. 4 seeded Lady Wildcats play No. 5 seeded Lindey Wilson Friday at home   in the opening round of the Mid-South Conference tournament. The action begins at 4 p.m.

Tournament Update:

Cumberlands (Ky.) is the top seed in the Tournament.


The six -match tournament begins with the quarter-finals at the higher seeds home field November 8th or 9th. The Semi-Final matches will take place November 11th at 4PM EST in Williamsburg Ky. The Final match will be November 13th at 6PM EST.  These are set to take place at Cumberlands (Ky.) as they are the overall No.1 seed.

Cumberlands (Ky.) finished the regular season as Champions, finishing with a 6-0 conference record, earning them the bye. 

The tournament gets underway with the first round as No. 4 seeded Bethel (Tenn.) is taking on No. 5 seeded Lindsey Wilson (Ky.).

No. 2 seed Campbellsville (Ky.) will face No. 7 seed Freed- Hardeman (Tenn.). 

No. 3 seed Cumberland (Tenn.) will face No.6 seed Georgetown (Ky.).

The Championship match is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th at 6:00 p.m. EST at the University of the Cumberlands' UC Lacrosse/Soccer Complex.
