Tournament Bracket

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.)  is the top seed in the 2022 Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Tournament, conference officials announced on Thursday with the release of the tournament bracket.

The Patriots earned the number one seed going 14-0-3 and 9-0-1 in MSC play and have earned a bye into the quarterfinals -- which take place on Nov. 4 and 5 with the top-four seeds hosting.

No. 2 seed Tennessee Southern (7-1-2), third-seeded Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (7-4-4, 7-1-2 MSC), No. 4 seed Cumberland (Tenn.) (12-3-1, 7-2-1 MSC) and No. 5 seed Campbellsville (Ky.) (8-5-1, 6-3-1 MSC) all receive a bye into the quarterfinals.

Tennessee Southern earned the No. 2 seed over Lindsey Wilson due to having a better goal differential during conference play.

Three opening round matches take place on Tuesday, Nov. 1 with the higher seeds hosting.

No. 6 seed Thomas More (Ky.) (10-5-2, 5-5 MSC) hosts 11th-seeded Pikeville (Ky.) (3-14-1, 0-10 MSC). The Saints shutout the Bears 4-0 on October 22. Lindsey Wilson awaits the winner in the quarterfinals.

Seventh-seeded Bethel (Tenn.) (6-6-4, 2-5-3) hosts No. 10 seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) (5-10-2, 1-8-1 MSC) with the winner facing Tennessee Southern. The Wildcats and the Lions played to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

No. 8 seed Shawnee State (Ohio) (9-7-1, 3-7 MSC) host No. 9 seed Georgetown (Ky.) (5-9-2, 2-7-1 MSC). The Bears defeated the Tigers 2-1 today. Cumberlands awaits the winner in the quarterfinals.

Bethel and Shawnee State each finished with nine points. Bethel earned the No. 7 seed over Shawnee State by having the head-to-head tiebreaker.

The highest seed remaining following the quarterfinals will host the semifinals and the championship. The semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 9 with the championship taking place on Nov. 11

The tournament champion receives one of the conference's two automatic bids into the NAIA National Tournament. If Cumberlands wins the tournament, the tournament's runner-up receives the second automatic bid.
