Lady Cats Can’t Keep Pace with Red-Hot Lady Tigers
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats had hoped to complete their two-game weekend road trip to Kentucky with a win at No. 3 Campbellsville Saturday. A victory would have gained them a split after the Cats had lost Thursday at Lindsey Wilson.
It wasn't to be however, as the Tigers pinned a 105-68 loss on the Cats. Bethel lost their sixth straight and fell to 5-6 overall and 1-4 in the Mid-South Conference. The Tigers remained undefeated at 7-0 and 5-0 in the league.
Campbellsville entered the game as the best shooting team in the nation. The Lady Tigers followed that theme throughout the first half. CU shot 64 percent from the floor and knocked down 11 three-pointers enroute to a 57-35 lead at the break. Bethel shot the ball well at 44 percent. The Wildcats had four treys but had 10 turnovers which led to 18 points by the Tigers. Madison Hart had 11 first half points.
Campbellsville increased their lead in the third stanza and led 83-50 heading into the fourth.
Bethel could never close the gap in the final frame.
The Cats shot 41 percent and nailed ten three-pointers, but Campbellsville would finish with 15 three-pointers. The Tigers shot 61 percent in the game. CU scored 33 points off 18 Bethel turnovers. The Tigers finished with 29 assists in the win.
Hart led Bethel with 21 points. The Tigers had four players finish in double figures with Elizabeth Bertram leading the way with 15 points.
Bethel returns home for the first time in three weeks as they host UT Southern Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The Countdown to Tip-off Show begins at 5 p.m.
