Men’s Soccer Wins over Campbellsville in Quarterfinals of MSC Tournament
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Fourth-seeded Bethel (Tenn.) (12-3-1, 3-2-1 MSC) played host to No. 5 seed Campbellsville (Ky.) (12-4-2, 3-2-1 MSC) Saturday at Wildcat Stadium.
The Cats advanced to the semi-finals of the Mid-South Conference Championships with a 3-1 win over the Tigers.
The Wildcats led 3-0 at the break. Goals by Adrian Musubi, Alvin Oguta and Goffin Oyirworth provided the scoring. Musubi and Alvarez Cooper had assists in the period.
The Tigers scored their only goal at the 89:05 mark.
Bethel had an 18-10 advantage in shots and a 15-6 margin in shots on goal.
Norberto Lima Vieira recorded five saves for the Wildcats.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is the top seed in the 2023 Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Tournament.
The Blue Raiders earned the No. 1 seed after going 11-2-3 overall and 4-0-2 in the MSC and will host the tournament semifinals on Nov. 8 and the final on Nov. 10.
Cumberlands (Ky.) (6-2-5, 3-1-2 MSC) earned the No. 2 seed and beat No. 7 seed Georgetown (Ky.) (6-10, 0-6 MSC) Saturday night.
Cumberland (Tenn.) (9-4-3, 3-1-2 MSC) is seeded third and advances after they beat No. 6 seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) (7-8-2, 1-5 MSC) Friday.
Lindsey Wilson will meet Bethel on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. CT while the Cumberlands will face Cumberland at 4 p.m. CT. The tournament Final is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on Nov. 10
