Men’s Soccer Opens MSC Play with Victory at Georgetown
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The No. 13 Bethel Wildcats returned to the pitch Friday night in Georgetown, Kentucky to face the Georgetown Tigers. It was the conference opener for both squads.
A first period unassisted goal by Alvarez Cooper gave the Cats a 1-nil lead at the break.
Gregory Cousins gave Bethel an insurance goal in the second period and that would assure the Wildcats a 2-nil victory. Griffin Oyirworth had the assist.
Bethel had a dominating 21-5 margin in shots and a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Norberto Lima Vieira had a save for the Cats who moved to 7-1 and 1-0 in the league. The Tigers fell to 4-4 and 0-1.
The Wildcats return home Friday for another conference battle, facing the No. 19 Patriots of the University of the Cumbelands at 3 p.m.
