Cats Shutout LSU Alexandria to Remain Unbeaten
ALEXANDRIA, La. –The No. 24 Bethel Wildcats shutout LSU-Alexandria 2-nil Monday afternoon in Alexandria to remain unbeaten at 4-0 on the season. Timely scoring and a stifling defense led the Cats to another impressive road victory.
Bethel took the lead with a goal at the 29:23 mark on a goal by Jermaine Murhead.
That lone score stood for remainder of the first period as the Wildcats led 1-nil at the break.
The Cats would hold the Generals scoreless in the second period and win 2 -nil as Hubert Oduya Kompany added a late insurance score. It was Bethel's second consecutive shutout.
LSUA dropped to 1-3 on the season.
Bethel had a 15-9 advantage in shots and an 8-6 margin in shots on goal.
Bethel's Norberto Lima Vieira recorded six saves.
The Cats are back in action Saturday hosting Texas A & M Texarkana at 7 p.m.
