
Men’s Basketball Meets Georgetown Thursday in Crisp
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats jump back into action Thursday night hosting No. 2 Georgetown at 7:30 p.m. in Crisp Arena. Bethel is 158 57 all-time in Crisp which opened in 2012.
Bethel is 12-3 at home this season.
The Cats sport a 16-9 overall record and are 4-6 in the Mid-South Conference.
The Tigers are 24-2 overall and 8-2 in the league. GC is 5-1 on the road this year.
It will be the 18th meeting between the two programs. The Tigers hold a 14-3 advantage in the series.
The Wildcats fell to the Tigers 86-77 in mid-January in Georgetown. The Tigers led 42-34 at the half. Georgetown extended their lead to double digits several times in the second half, but Bethel hung tough and stayed within striking distance before falling by nine.
The Wildcats shot 38 percent from the field. The Cats struggled from outside, hitting just five of 21 three-point attempts. Bethel was 18-of-27 from the foul line.
GC shot 49 percent from the floor and hit seven three pointers. The Tigers were 21-of-27 from the charity stripe.
Bethel had a 40-30 rebound advantage but committed 16 turnovers.
D J Starr and Trevor Chatman led the Wildcats with 13 points each. Chauncy Hughes III had 12 points while Ethan Turner had eight points and a team high nine rebounds.
Jaquin Franklin came off the GC bench to score a game high 18 points.
Trevor Chatman leads Bethel averaging 11.3 points per game. DJ Starr pops 11.1 per game. Chauncey Hughes III follows at 10.5 while Etan Turner averages 10.2 per contest.
Bethel averages 83.3 points while yielding 79.1 per outing.
Five Tigers average in double figures with Franklin leading the attack per outing at 16.0 per game.
GC averages 87.0 points per game and yields 70.4 per game.
