Basketball Cats Sign Daveonne Warfield

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Coach Jeff Britt announced the signing of Daveonne Warfield of Southwest Tennessee Community College recently.

Daveonne is the son of Marvin Warfield and Shanell Hickey and will major in Business.

Warfield is a native of Chicago but played his prep basketball at Memphis Kirby High School. Daveonne played his senior season at Pure Academy where he averaged 18.3 points per game.

During his career at Southwest averaged 14.7 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals per game.

Warfield helped lead the Saluqis to the semi-finals of the 2024 Region Seven Tournament.

Daveonne feels his biggest strengths are his ability to shoot, defense and leadership abilities.

Coach Britt commented, "Daveonne is a very explosive athlete who can do different things at the guard position. We are excited to welcome him into our basketball family."
