Men’s Basketball Signs Alabama Standout

PELHAM, Ala. – The Bethel University Wildcats signed Pelham, Alabama High School star Joe Amir Wimberly recently. Joe is the son of Tekela Wimberly and will major in Sports Management.

Joe was the starting point guard for Pelham for three years. He helped PHS win a combined 45 games in his junior and senior seasons.

Wimberly was a huge part of his team's success helping lead Pelham to two consecutive AHSAA Class 6 A Area 8 runner-up finishes his junior and senior seasons. They also won several in- season tournaments.

Off the court, Wimberly excelled in the classroom. He was an Honor Roll student and a National Society of High School Scholar.

Coach Jeff Britt commented, "We are excited to sign Joe. He has some high-level high school experience which we feel will help him in his transition to the collegiate level. Joe is a fine young man, and we look forward to having him join our program."
