
Wildcats Extinguish Flames
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats moved to 11-5 on the year with a resounding win over the visiting Welch College Flames Monday night in Crisp Arena. It was Bethel's fifth straight victory. Bethel is 125-51 all-time in the arena which opened in 2012.
Welch counted the game as an exhibition. The Flames are 4-5 on the season.
The Wildcats led 42-24 at the half.
The relentless attack continued as the Wildcats led by as many as 37 points in the second half and won 96-64.
Bethel shot 46 percent from the floor and had a 53-24 advantage in rebounds. The Cats had a 66-28 margin in points in the paint.
Ethan Turner led Bethel with 15 points. Querrion Gadson followed with 13 points and a game high eight rebounds. Fourteen different Wildcats scored in the game.
Mason Thornhill had a game high of 19 points for Welch.
The 96 points were the second most in a game this season for the Cats. Bethel scored 100 against UHSP earlier this season.
The Wildcats begin MSC play on Saturday. The first three games are road games. After traveling to No. 11 Freed-Hardeman on Saturday Bethel then faces road games at Campbellsville on January 18th and Lindsey Wilson on the 20th.
