Men’s Basketball Adds Australian Standout

MCKENZIE, Tenn. -Bethel University Men's Basketball Coach Jeff Britt announced Monday the signing of Matija Beric of Sydney, Australia. Matija is the son of Stevo and Biljana Beric and is undecided on his major.

Matija was a standout at The Scots College High School. Beric also played club ball in Serbia and Australia. Along with basketball, Matija was a standout volleyball and swimmer during his prep career. He was an honor roll student and was Academic "All Rounder" at The Scots College.

Beric was a Model United Nations Scholar and Belgrade Delegation Member.

Matija feels his biggest strengths are his versatility and his ability to score from three different positions.

Coach Britt commented, "We are really pleased to add Matija to our program. He can score and is very versatile. Matija is a good passer and has played against some top-notch players. We look forward to seeing him be a key member of our squad."
