
Bat Cats Lose High Scoring Affair at Oakland City
OAKLAND CITY, Ind. – The Bethel Wildcats led Oakland City 7-5 in the seventh inning, but the Oaks scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh to grab a 11-7 lead and went on to defeat the visiting Wildcats 13-8.
The Cats dropped to 13-9. Oakland City improved to 17-9 on the year.
The Oaks outhit the Wildcats 14-11.
Bethel scoring:
Ivan Vega had a two-run single in the first.
Jared Hall drove in a run in the second inning. CJ Thomas followed with an RBI single.
Adriel Vega drove in a run in the fourth.
Jose Olmeda hit a solo homer in the sixth.
Hall scored on a wild pitch in the sixth.
Juan Diego Ramos had an RBI double in the seventh.
Nathan Rhodes suffered the loss.
The Wildcats return to action Friday traveling to Cumberland University.
The teams play a single game at 2 p.m. on Friday. The squads meet in a doubleheader Saturday at noon.
