Bat Cats Drop Series Finale at Freed-Hardeman

HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats traveled to Henderson this weekend for a three game MSC series.

The Wildcats beat the No. 18 Lions in a pair of games Saturday. The Cats won game one 3-0 and took game two 12-8.

Freed turned the tables Sunday in the series finale. The Lions scored four runs in the first and two runs in the third. They added a single run in the fourth to lead 7-0.

Bethel rallied with three runs in the top of the sixth. RBI's by Ivan Vega, Juan Diego and Wyatt McKee cut into the FHU margin.

Freed regained the momentum with five runs in the bottom of the sixth and led 12-3 after six innings.

Rivers Moffatt and Cade Pilkinton drove in runs in the top of the eighth. The Lions scored in the bottom of the inning and led 13-5.

Juan Diego drove in a run in the ninth, but the Lions won 13-6.

The Lions outhit the Wildcats 12-9. Lucas Smith was charged with the loss.

 Bethel dropped to 21 -7 overall and 2-4 in the MSC. FHU improved to 23-8 and 4-2.

The Cats return home Tuesday to host Oakland City. The single game begins at 2 p.m.
