
Cats Split with Gray Wolves
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats split their doubleheader with the visiting Lourdes University Gray Wolves Thursday in McKenzie.
Game one was tied 3-3 going into the bottom of the fifth. Adriel Vega came through with a two run RBI single giving the Wildcats a 5-3 lead. He later scored on a Gray Wolve error giving the Wildcats a 6-3 victory. Ivan Vega had driven in two runs earlier in the game. Juan Diego drove in a run earlier as well. Jared Hall had two hits and scored twice. Zach Griffith had two hits and scored a run for the Wildcats. Tyler Proctor picked up the win in relief. Bethel outhit Lourdes 10-7. It was Bethel's 12th straight win.
Lourdes scored single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings in game two. Bethel's only run came in the third when Hall score as a result of a Gray Wolve error. Both teams committed three errors in the game. Lourdes outhit Bethel 6-5. Ryan White suffered the Wildcat loss.
Bethel finished the day at 18-2. Lourdes is 1-7 on the season.
Saturday's scheduled doubleheader between the teams has been cancelled.
